It’s the time of year to make sure that you have had your heating system checked out before the cold weather sets in. We get a lot of questions about air conditioning and heat. Lots of callers ask about situations where a room or rooms upstairs are hotter than the rest of the house and hard to cool. There are many reasons for this and equally many solutions but it is good to ensure that your system is fundamentally sound. An easy way to tell if things are OK is to take the temperature of the air as it exits a vent and to take the temperature of air as it enters the return. There should be a minimum difference of 15 degrees between those two points if the system is working well. If you do not have this minimum difference it’s probably time to get a professional to take a look at the situation and to help with some solutions. Thanks for visiting Ask John and Dave.com and we’ll see you on the air.
