Tip of The Week

This week’s tip comes from
our “Orange you
glad the smell is gone” file.
|

|
When
you open up the door of your dishwasher to load it, the last thing you expect
to encounter is a foul smell. After all
it is a cleaning machine…this is where you put your dishes to clean them before
you eat off of them again. It should be
clean and smell clean. Not always the
true. In reality it is fairly common to open up your dishwasher only to be
greeted by an odor that is more reminiscent of a trash compactor than a
dishwasher.
|
| |
| The odiferous culprit is
usually food particles stuck in the pump screen at the base of the unit. Over time they decay and put off an offensive
smell. Technology to the rescue; there
is a very high tech solution to this problem.
It can be found in the juice aisle of your favorite grocery store. Pick up a jar of Tang™, the powdered orange
flavored breakfast drink. Fill the
detergent dispenser with the powdered tang and run the dishwasher through a
full cleaning cycle with nothing else in it.
When the cycle is done the odor will be gone. |
