Tip of The Week

This week’s tip comes from our “Tops off” file.
|
| |
|
Have you
ever gone to use some cleaning products, adhesives or other chemicals only to
find that you couldn’t remove the top.
So you break out the pliers or channel locks. Then if you’re like a lot of folks you tear
up the cap so now that you have it open you will never be able to seal it
again. Then the remainder of the product
goes in the trash.

I read a simple solution in one of my favorite
publications “The Family Handyman” published by Readers’ Digest. The solution is, as usual, very simple. Take some Teflon tape, the same product you
use for plumbing and wrap it round the threads of the container then screw the
cap on. (Make sure you wrap the tape in the right direction so it doesn’t peel
off as you turn the cap on.) The next
time you go to use it the cap will come of with ease.
